Certain aspirations in life propel us to tread a path that brings with it a mixture of hope and anticipation. However, once we begin to ease into the travel, we realize that the motive behind this drive is to lead a better, more comfortable life. With regards to Jazmine Humphrey, it was her turn from being a full-time registered nurse to a full-time CEO of My Greek Boutique that kept her composed and pushed her to break boundaries.
Changing the course of action after her daughter, Madisyn’s birth, was a decision that motivated Jazmine on the path of becoming an entrepreneur. Her previous experience and expertise in nursing had slowly turned around, and she realized her true passion was designing apparel. Moreover, with her entrepreneurial streak on the rise, she decided to take matters into her own hands and work toward building a better life.
My Greek Boutique began on Etsy with 1 physical product shipped from her home in December 2018, then expanded via drop ship in 2019; however, it was different from where Jazmine hoped to remain and conduct business. After a year of putting in extra hours and resigning from her job as a registered nurse, she decided to make My Greek Boutique official. A year later, My Greek Boutique became an official retail store, with apparel catering to sororities and fraternities throughout the United States.
Jazmine began My Greek Boutique to support her daughter, to lead a better life, and to accommodate her needs to the best of her abilities. She shares, “Raising a daughter made me realize that I wanted much more out of life and to provide her with the best life possible.” The maternal instinct within her was her driving force, her motivator, and the voice that enabled her to accomplish My Greek Boutique.
Shifting from Etsy to her own official domain brought challenges along the way. However, Jazmine bid adieu to all such troubles with her planning and goal-centric persona intact. Instead of relying on loans and credits, she personally funded My Greek Boutique’s formation – from location to curation, all handled by Jazmine herself.
It is no surprise that Jazmine has an entrepreneurial streak that was waiting to bud and grow. Once it bloomed, it reaped fruitful results of extraordinary caliber and continues to flourish.
