After Sony officially announced the name for its next-generation console, namely PlayStation (PS) 5, Microsoft did not want to lose. Sony’s fierce competitor to the gaming console has now revealed the official name for the next-generation Xbox.
As reported by JawaPos.com from TheVerge, Friday (12/13), the next-generation Xbox from Microsoft was officially called the Xbox Series X. Microsoft revealed the name and design of the console on the Game Awards stage recently.
The console itself looks more like a PC than the previous Xbox. Microsoft also provides a new design trailer that is completely different. The console itself is designed for use in the vertical and horizontal orientation. Head of Microsoft Xbox, Phil Spencer promised to give four times the processing power of the Xbox One X, but still efficient.
Microsoft uses Xbox Series X to display Hellblade 2, a new game from Ninja Theory that is being developed for the next Xbox console. Although Microsoft has revealed its design, the company did not disclose other detailed specifications.
Xbox Series X will include a CPU specifically designed based on the AMD Zen 2 architecture and Radeon RDNA. Microsoft also uses NVMe SSD on the Xbox Series X which promises to increase loading time. Xbox Series X will also support 8K games, frame rates of up to 120 fps in games, ray tracing, and variable refresh rate support.
