Standing at an impressive 7.3k followers on Instagram, Philistine believes that women are entitled to enjoy the finer things in life. Pictures of her recent travels on Instagram paint a lifestyle that displays her zeal for exploring scenic and glamorous locations. Her goal, as she states, is to make every black woman understand the importance of spoiling oneself now and then, even if it means to do it luxuriously. Philistine currently works as a full-time nurse, and whenever she can get time off, she spends it trying to fulfill her passion for traveling.
At a very young age, Philistine had been on a constant move with her family. Shifting to different countries and cities throughout her childhood, Philistine was acquainted with new places that furthered her desire to travel the world. In 2019, she set up her blog to produce travel content that appealed to her followers. However, things didn’t take off for her in the beginning. She started noticing that her page wasn’t getting enough followers and engagement. Upon realizing this, she reached out to mentors Samia Jay, and Nikki, who guided her further, and in no time was able to achieve her desired results. To carry forward her vision of inspiring women of color across the world to enjoy their individualities, Philistine soon set up her line of beach hats. “The idea behind my brand was my obsession with beach hats and how they add a little bit of extra class and elegance to any vacation outfit.” Within a month of launching her brand, she managed to sell out two of her hat designs. The brand resonates with her travel lifestyle and offers an outlet for women to recognize themselves for being worthy of all the best things in life.
Philistine’s success journey has been a passion project to evoke a sense of epiphany among women of what it means to enjoy themselves. She believes that none of it would’ve been possible had it not been for her consistency and reaching out for guidance at the right time. Moreover, priming herself to habits that ensure she stays on top of her goals and targets has been critical to her ongoing success. Having had the opportunity to connect with people from her line of work, Philistine urges young entrepreneurs to follow a similar pathway. She also hopes that her accomplishments can serve as an exemplar for young women setting out to achieve their dreams.
