Talaya’s journey to self-realization
Talaya hails from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and grew up in a middle-class family. Her family’s horrible financial management did not change their circumstances but made them worse with time. She recalls the time and says, “We robbed Peter to pay Paul. Every financial hiccup was an emergency, there was never enough in savings, and we survived living from one paycheck to the next.”
Growing up observing such a financial approach, she continued her life in the same manner. Once she started working, there was never a day when she didn’t have debts. She took payday loans to pay for her next paycheck, and her extreme habit of borrowing money led to a financial disaster.
At the age of 29, she went bankrupt. That is when she realized that she needed to pull up her socks and work on her destructive habits. She enrolled for a Masters in Accounting and Financial Management from Keller Graduate School of Management and began her journey as an accountant. Her desire to help others fight financial illiteracy led her to take up entrepreneurship and she started mentoring people on financial management – a skill not taught in the modern education system.
Assisting others in their financial journey
Talaya owns FIIT Perspective which, is a financial literacy company. With her humor and fun-loving approach, she makes her clients evaluate their relationship with money and helps them discover the path to financial freedom. Through her detailed and well-planned money masterclass, and her published self-help book ‘So I Graduated, Now What Do I Do?’. She is stimulating major transformations in the lives of others and walking them through the path to financial freedom.
Future goals
From being bankrupt to owning her home with no mortgage, she proudly states, “During the pandemic, I was able to pay off $25k in debt and save $30K in 10 mos of that year.
I later purchased a new truck because of the horrible winter weather in Wisconsin.
Those were small personal successes, and I teach my clients how to do the same and more.”
She has personally touched over 700 people and aspires to transform that number to over 7 billion. Talaya works hard to get her financial education company rightful recognition and make an everlasting impact on every life she touches.
